After many years working at translation agencies in the Netherlands, Catherine decided to give in to her inner entrepreneur and establish her own translation company. In February 2016 McIntosh Translations was born.

Catherine studied French and German at the University of Cambridge, during which time she spent a year abroad teaching English at a Grammar school in Tübingen, Germany. After completing her BA (Hons) she moved to Switzerland, once again to teach English, and then moved on to the Netherlands to do a master’s degree. She studied at Radboud University in Nijmegen, and lived there for 7 years. She currently resides in Haarlem.

Over the years, she has gained a wealth of experience in the translation industry, having worked as an in-house translator, project manager and language engineer for a number of Dutch translation agencies. Catherine knows what it takes to produce a top-quality translation, to communicate with clients to ensure their requirements are met, and to coordinate projects with translators based all over the whole world. She also has the technical knowledge to be able to handle almost all file types; whether they’re for web shop/websites, software localization, PDFs, graphic design, or just straightforward Microsoft Office documents.

Catherine translates German and Dutch texts into English, and specialises in marketing & communication for the creative industries.
